Political Cartoon Analyses

The Irish Frankenstein
The Irish "Tempest."
The Irish Frankenstein and The Irish "Tempest." were two of the most influential and iconic political cartoons of the 19th century regarding the stressed relationship between Ireland and England. The first one that should be tackled is The Irish Frankenstein as it is a bit more guided. The Irish "Tempest." has more of a research focus.

Architectural Blueprint of "The Dead"

The below gallery of images (expand when clicked on) reveal actual blueprints of 15 Usher's Island --  the setting of "The Dead" which Joyce knew from his childhood -- and photographs from a developer's renovations proposal. Text from the short story has been added where appropriate to give a better idea of what is being described from "The Dead".

The below is an impact assessment conducted by (no joke) Dedalus Architecture for a developer's proposal to renovate 15 Usher's Island from "The Dead". This includes photographs, maps, and even a history of the property and neighborhood.
